The Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) just wrapped up its 9th edition. The promotion and development of the 7th arts is one of the priorities of the government in this 21st century. No efforts are being spared to explore every opportunity for its advancement and development in all its forms. The Minister of Arts and Culture is therefore determined to support, accompany and encourage actors in this domain.Agbor Gilbert, the brain behind CAMIFF is one of those actors that have aligned themselves to the vision of the government for the development and expansion of the 7th arts in our nation. Bringing together film lovers and makers from far and near under the CAMIFF umbrella to nurture, encourage, expose and introduce young talents to the world of cinema. Bringing in icons particularly from Nollywood: Zack Orji was particularly in attendance this year.In it’s custom, the Ministry of Arts and Culture spared no efforts in its usual accompaniment and amongst other things, had the Secretary General of MINAC represent the Minister. In attendance from the 21-26 April 2025, were other administrative, political, religious and traditional authorities. Members of the diplomatic corps were not left out of the list.This 9th edition was particularly marked by the inauguration of the multimillion WALL OF FAME ( a display of Photos and bios, awards, trophies, or recognition of achievements, memorable moments or milestones aimed to inspire, motivate, and celebrate success, recognize achievement and preserve history) and the unveiling of the headstone in honor of the Minister of Arts and Culture.A symposium with well experienced panelists drilled participants on some insights into the Cinematography industry. A cultural evening to showcase the rich cultural landscape of Cameroon was on the agenda and courtesy visits to administrative authorities constituted activities that marked this year’s edition.The government applauded the collaboration with the neighboring Nollywood industry, their interest and input in the Cameroon cinema industry. It also reaffirmed it’s commitment to standing by the promoters of CAMIFF and lovers of cinema to achieve the dream of taking this arts to world standard.
